Steel Window Service provided this screen based on the clients design and desire to bring light into their new ground floor extension. Full working drawings were provided before being commissioned to manufacture the screen measuring 3.0m wide x 2.3m high incorporating a set of full height double doors.
The finish is our popular ‘Industrial Patina’ created by having a series of treatments following galvanizing to accelerate the process of surface exposure and ageing changing the appearance from a bright zinc into a darkened industrial finish. The narrow sight-lines of the steel doors and black silicone glazing method enhance the industrial look requested while making for a light and airy internal space.
Doors have self-aligning hinges to hold open with cabin hooks and the fittings are supplied from our standard range of antique black ironmongery.
The purpose made door frames are from our W20 series of hot rolled steel sections, glazed with high specification double glass units to achieve an overall frame and glass U value of 1.8 W/m2K to ensure optimum thermal performance and meet current building standards.
